SORTING OUT THE DESK
If any of you are anything like me at all
And things from your desk begin to fall
You think its time it was sorted all out,
I find it difficult to do without a doubt.
Its not a quick job, at least not for me,
Every paper I search with much scrutiny,
Checking both sides reading it over twice,
Before it goes to the shedder lost on a trice.
Quite early this morning I started this task,
Page after page myself many times did I ask,
Do I need you? Is there inspiration somewhere?
Are you of use? Before going to be shredded there.
It took ages, only a small amount is thrown away,
I think I will have to do it again soon and say
I have to be more willing to get rid of things,
But being too thoughtless tragedy could bring.
The desk does look a little better I must admit,
But still within a pile of scraps of paper I do sit,
Each one could have a poem thought for me,
So Ill hang onto them some ideas for me to see.
