LESSON FROM THE GRASS
How many times in summer do we have cut the grass?
At least once a week, no longer can we let the task pass,
Yet time and time again, up it comes again every time,
It never gives up growing, we dont hear it moan or whine.
Quietly it grows, striving so hard to reach up to the sun,
And it never gives up trying until the frosts do come,
Are we as determined as that simple grass that grows,
Striving to keep trying however cruel or hard the blows
That come in life to try and stop us from doing right,
Or are we a little too eager to stop and give up the fight
When at times harsh trials to often seem to come our way?
Remember the grass on the lawn that grows day after day.
However often it is cut or trimmed it comes right up again,
It overcomes all hardships and ignores the hurt and the pain,
Let us follow this example of fortitude and great might,
Always keep on growing and so keep heaven in our sight.
