DEGREES OF GLORY
By which degree of glory is my own name shown,
Will I understand His kind voice, will I be known
By the heavenly throng in celestial realms on high,
Or will I be left behind as the precious ones walk by?

Is my name written for the God and the Master to see,
Have I worked hard enough and well so I will be
Gathered to His kingdom where those I love will dwell,
Or have I erred, knowing much, will be condemned to hell?

How much time have I wasted on the mundane things around?
Have I managed to earn my way to heaven a crown of glory found,
Remembered all the commitments I have made with God above,
Oh I wonder, will He receive me into His arms with love?

I will continue to keep on trying, I will do my very best
To overcome my faults as I strive to have heaven as my quest,
Every day I’ll pray that He will guide me by the hand
So that I will make it safely to God’s promised land.
