        WHEN IT’S COLD
When you are cold the very best place to be
Is standing on an air vent if a fire you can’t see,
Feel warm air blow up your legs, around the feet,
Yes, in the cold of winter this is a special treat.

To be fair and to share the heat all around the house
Don’t hog them all the time or the others may shout,
Unless there are enough air vents for all to stand over,
Then you will feel you are sitting in summer clover.

I prefer a big fire, but a vent is the next best thing,
But you have to be quick and with great speed wing
When the furnace turns on to try and beat the cats,
For they are the ones who know where the heat is at.
