More poems about Easter

WHAT IS EASTER ABOUT
I made up my mind to ask children what
Easter was about,
There would be a few different answers of
that I had no doubt.
I asked a little girl this question aged I’d
say about five,
She answered, it’s the Easter Bunny and it’s
good to be alive.
A boy a little older mentioned chocolate and
new clothes as well.
My heart ached for each one I asked
not one did tell
Of Jesus resurrection, the way He
lived and died for all,
No one told story of Easter morning when
Mary came to call
At the tomb and found Him not dead
but alive again,
How He freed us from death and from
hurt and pain.
I did not give up trying there must be
a child around
Who knew the meaning of Easter and the joy
that can be found.
Then I heard a wonderful sound that softly
came my way,
A little child was singing a sweet song,
Christ the Lord is risen today’
My search was over at least one child knew
the true meaning
Of the Easter story and to that child sweet
joy was bringing.
