OUR HIMALAYAN CAT
We have a silver grey Himalayan cat, pretty as can be,
But I cannot understand why she is not as bald as can be,
Our pink carpet has light grey fur in patches everywhere,
All down the hall and on the green chesterfield and chair;

Clumps of it are seen as you walk all the way upstairs,
Even on the bedspread and pillows are fluffy cat hairs,
When she is brushed the hand fulls seem to come away,
Yet she still looks like a ball of fluff and all pretty stay.

She brushes by the Siamese, they sleep in an affectionate ball,
When they awake or you arouse them with a ‘Treat’ call
They come running, both cats shedding Himalayan hair,
However often you brush or vacuum you see it lying there.

The worst things are clothing of the darker shade,
She seems to make a great fuss, around your legs parade,
Sitting on your knee with a purr, kindly depositing there
Enough warm fur to make a nest, on your black skirt with care.

My husband has just bought a stylish black suit so smart,
The first day he wore it, the pesky fur nearly broke his heart,
It seemed to appear from nowhere, this pretty fluff so light,
Then be attracted to the suit, not really a very smart sight..

If you come as a guest and we hope you will one happy day,
Wear something light in colour, or Himalayan silver grey,
Even if you don’t see her, like magic her fur is always found
From the ceiling and walls on the furniture and on the ground.
