PIED PIPERS OF LIFE
Do we have a Pied Piper that we follow,
Someone to lead us astray?
A commandment that we can’t swallow,
Wanting our own way?
Are there things we see t hat are harmful,
Not good at all?
We say we shut out crudity and so lull
ourselves until we fall,
The Pied Piper can be our own actions
or words we speak,
Stubbornly going in the wrong direction,
Always proud, never meek.
Is our Pied Piper all pleasing and pleasant
That we have to go,
Just like all the children of Hamelin went
The sound pleasing them so.
I’ll make my own Pied Piper and have him play
For me a tune sweet and true,
Songs of righteousness for me every single day,
My spiritual strength renew,
Create your own Pied Piper so he may guide you
Safely to heaven above,
Let him play and direct you all this life through
And fill your heart with love.
