OCEAN AND MOONLIGHT
Most of the traffic sounds had silenced, there was peace,
Yet though very little wind, the waves did not cease
Pounding like a heart beat, the rhythm strong and true,
Like a lover calling his secret thoughts just for you.
The moon sailed high across a dark blue velvet sky,
And fragmented sections on the ocean were tossed by
Unseen hands playing some game to pass night away,
And to me the sea at night is far better than in the day
The moon touched the wave crests with a silver glow,
Turning the darkened water into a spectacular show,
Moonlight on the ocean with sweet stillness in the air,
More should come to watch this beauty beyond compare.
The lighthouse beacon paints gold on the dark seas face
To add its beam of false light to the full moons grace,
Listen to the waves heartbeat, does it not stir you within?
Like the sirens singing a song of peace in a world of din.
