HOWLING WOLF
I see in my mind a wolf howling at the moon,
Head held back eyes closed, and then soon
He hears his mate call across the cloudy sky,
Did you know wolves are together until they die?
I see a mist over the moon, a forest thick and green,
Water pure and clean that humans have never seen,
A clearing lush, where the star lit sky comes to view,
The wolf gleams in beauty as the moon shines through.
His grey fur kissed with the moonlight, he is unaware
Of the picture of grace as he howls his message there,
Who could not love this beast full of grace and beauty?
A gift for man to enjoy and there for the watcher to see.
Have you heard him calling, his voice calling your name,
A partner on earth to share this lovely earth and the shame
Is on us if we do not take care of this gift of loveliness,
For in my mind and life the wolf I want there me to bless.
