FEELINGS OF CHRISTMAS
It would be good to have Christmas feelings all year through,
Not for all the gifts that are given or all the extra work that we do,
But those special feelings that seem to shine in every heart,
Most people striving to be better and some kindness impart.
The feelings of Christmas that makes cold days glow warm,
Seeing the snow fall at the start of the first long winter storm,
The bright eyes of children and the laughter and great fun,
The family togetherness where new traditions are begun.
The feelings of wanting to help those who are in need,
Thinking more of the homeless, forgetting your own greed
By sharing what you have in some simple little way,
Giving money, food and blankets on a really cold day,
For the real feelings of Christmas should never leave a heart,
Every day be kind and good and of our substance impart.
Christ is the centre of Christmas, so our light should shine,
We are acting for him, so let it be Christmas all the time.
