COLLECTIVES
The collective of geese is a gaggle
and so it should be,
For they are so very chatty together
as they gather in glee.
A group of owls is a parliament, yet
they look so good and wise
Do they approve of the comparison
or think otherwise.
Many others I know but I have ideas
of my very own
Of collectives of creatures, I’ll tell you
if you won’t moan.
Now a flock of cardinals should be
called a cathedral don’t you?
As for the jays the collective of
squabble comes through.
How about a twitter of sparrows,
that sounds right,
A flurry of juncos as they seem to
feed with delight.
A squiggle of cute squirrels or would
twitch be a better fit,
These words come to mind as at
my window I sit.
I know there are many more to
find collectives for,
Maybe at a latter date I will work
on a pile more.
