CANDY HANDSHAKES
We have a friend at the temple whom
we meet each Thursday,
He always has a smile to greet you
as he passes your way,
He has a special handshake that
makes all smile,
And keeps you going for many a
long weary mile.
For in his hand is a sweet candy
there for you to eat,
Something to keep you happy,
a special little treat.
He goes out of his way to shake hands
With a friend or two
And you slow down and wait so he
never misses you.
Now I thought when he is much older
and he passes away,
And finds himself at the golden gate
one happy day,
He should have in his hand a candy to
give to Peter or Paul,
It would not be Brother Page if he had
no candy to give to all.
So when the time comes to pass that
onto heaven he goes,
Put a candy in his hand so his sweet
kindness still shows.
In fact he’d need a big bag or two for
him to pass around
For there many of his friends
there will be found.
