A SWEET GENTLE GESTURE
For Michael Thatcher
Elder Thatchers quilt went everywhere he did,
Tidily draped over his bed, from view was never hid,
It was his pride and joy, that, everyone could see.
The main colour was red, as pretty as could be.

He went home from his mission, bought a little cat,
A sweet companion, well loved and it often sat
On that lovely red quilt, two treasures together,
The quilt kept them both warm in bad weather.

Unfortunately the cat died, a dear friend now gone
A wonderful thing Michael did to help his cat pass on,
He wrapped it in his favourite quilt to be buried in,
Michael, you have such a tender heart beating within.

You willingly shared the gospel, spreading the light,
Serving on your mission with all your mind and might,
Now this tender action shows your true great worth,
Always full of thoughtful love while here on earth.
