WHAT’S UP!
Such a short word that means such a lot,
That little puzzling word, UP, said in a jot,
A thing on E mail has brought to my mind
All the uses of UP that I may be able to find.

UP to no good, that could be right UP your ally,
Break UP with a friend, then make up with Sally,
Put on a good face as you face UP to each trial,
I don’t think I’ll give UP for quite a long while.

Make UP your mind to go UP into the big city,
Park UP the car, not to go UP by train is a pity.
I’ll stock UP with food before they UP the prices,
UP to now I’ve been good, given UP a few vices.

Jack UP the car to change a tire, it’s UP to you
If you are UP to it then pump it UP with air too.
The kids threw a ball UP onto the roof early today
It bunged UP a spout, I have to speak UP by the way.

I don’t feel UP to it my nose is stuffed UP with a cold,
No I’m not UP to snuff, but I should get UP I’m told.
I went UP to see the doctor, all steamed UP became
When he told me to shut UP and put UP with the pain.

I could continue, get it UP for a while, stay UP late,
But I’d get UP in the morning in an terrible state,
Make UP could not cover UP the wrinkly sight,
I’ll go UP to bed, cover UP and snuggle UP, goodnight!
