IMPASSABLE
All the day the relentless snow fell,
When it would stop no one could tell,
The sky was heavy with pregnant clouds,
Snow was covering all with her shroud.
He waited at the bus station, others did too
To get home for Christmas they wanted to do,
Those going up north can have a free meal
For there will be a long wait for you I feel
A woman sat by the window watching the snow,
If I cant get home for Christmas where can I go?
The man who spoke first was a happy fellow to see,
With bright blue eyes and a big smile full of jollity.
He seemed to cheer all as he wandered here and there,
Then they all saw a small child, kneeling in prayer,
She looked about twelve, was the child all alone?
Her not home for Christmas chilled them to the bone.
Father, I need to get to grandmas house this night,
For mom is sick and daddy has missed his last flight,
She and grandpa will be waiting at the bus stop for me,
Please help all the busses get through nice and quickly,
There was not one dry eye found in the people there,
All their own worries ceased for the child they did care,
What could they do? could any bus get through the snow
So that to her grandparents home she could get to.
Then like a miracle the snow stopped, the sky clear,
Although the roads were bad and the drivers had some fear,
They knew that the people needed to be safely home
And not in a chilly bus terminal all day and night to roam.
The young man and the child climbed onto the same bus
He found that they were related going to the same house,
He used his cell phone to call saying they were on the way
Though it seemed impassable theyd be there for Christmas day.
On wings on safety the bus went north vehicles it passed by,
Not one snow could was seen in the star studded sky,
A prayer of a frightened child heard in sweet heaven above,
Being carried to carried along to arms opened with love.
