More poems about Lakes

        BEFORE MY EYES
The vision I saw will dwell in my mind
        to beyond the veil itself,
So powerful was the scene I saw so
        full of untold wealth,
Not in worldly value as known by man but
        beauty beyond compare,
Created by the cold of winter by the blending
        of cold and warm air.
The warmer lake heaved as the wind made
        mists of the waves,
Like restless souls rising from their icy cold
        watery graves.
As the mist arose from that powerful lake,
        snow clouds spawned
In great haste as the wind whipped them on
        this cold wintery morn.
Dark grey water lamented beneath each harsh
        breath that blew,
For the clouds they formed hid their world from
        a sky of bright blue.
Awesome was the lake and ethereal the sight
        of that vision before me,
That is why the apparition will be in my mind
        throughout eternity.
