More poems about Gratitude

        WHEN SHADOWS FALL
When nightly shadows fall, in grace across a peaceful scene,
And we stop and think back to what a good day it has been,
In gratitude, willingly, sending praises to our eternal God above
Who showers us so freely with constant gifts of His love.

When eventide stretches her calming hand over a weary, harsh day,
Heralding that sweet refreshing night is coming in stealth our way,
Even when the day has been filled with pain, hurt and sorrow,
Let us still with thankful hearts our homage to our God show.

When the sun drapes low on the western ridge in her dying beauty,
When the day has been too busy and you are as worn out as can be,
Sing songs of praise and rejoicing that much you were able to do,
And that he sustained you all that hectic, busy day all through.

One day our earthly life will end, our night of sleeping will come,
And if we can rest with a grateful heart when our life’s day is done,
Our rest in death will be sweet indeed for ingratitude is a great sin,
One, the Lord tells us, may keep us from His presence entering in.

So with good works and a grateful heart let us end each glorious day,
Then as the sun sinks in the west, in words of gratitude always pray,
So as each night bedims our eyes in gentle slumber sweet, may we
As His spirit children, of His great goodness ever mindful always be.
