More poems about Winter

        HIDDEN THINGS
See in the ice cold carpet of snow
a blanket soft and warm
That protects all the plants in winter
keeps them free from harm.

Hear in the howling of the wind so strong
winter’s haunting lullaby,
That helps the earth sleep deep and well
until the cold passes by.

With every shower of rain that comes
imagine a tiny snowdrop grow,
Or the bolder crocus or tulip and the
daffodil that in spring do all show.

Every season has a different reason, some
like summer and fall we know,
For we see the beauty all around and late
spring does flowers show.

But the plants and flowers need to rest
for a at least a little while
And how much more we appreciate them
when they all return in style.
