CHRISTMAS FRUSTRATIONS
Sometimes things don’t seem to go quite right,
Lots of little troubles rear their unwanted head,
So dull a day that should be all jolly and bright,
And the safest thing is to go and hide in bed.

Sometimes life throws a curve ball or two
Causing unwelcome trauma to come our way,
Soup all boiled over and burned air quite blue,
That was right at the start of a very busy day.

Can’t find the tin to cook the big turkey in,
Things just keep vanishing clean out of sight,
I hope this frustrating battle of wits I can win,
So I can relax, put my feet up sometime tonight.

The whole family will be with us on Christmas day,
Eighteen people from almost seventy to one year old,
I hope we all get on well together and true love stay
With us, and years later the story of this day be told.
