More poems about Christmas Festivities

        CHRISTMAS EVE
Christmas Eve began by being very dull and grey,
The heavy rain we had washed all the snow away,
But there is still that Christmas magic in the air
That brings a special feeling to folks everywhere.

Soon there will be in the kitchen the smell of cooking,
Then a rush out for the last minute important shopping,
A big tidy up and cleaning around before Christmas day,
Evening brings carol singing together in a loving way.

A tradition of watching ‘A Christmas Carol’ on TV
That is always a part of this wonderful season to me,
Sit by the fire nibbling the treats that seem to abound,
Just relaxing in harmony at home where love is found.

Although no snow glitters outside, it doesn’t matter at all,
Or that on this grey day the rain continues to heavily fall,
It does not matter, for we are preparing for Christmas day
When all the family will be together to eat and to play.
