FRIENDS!
I threw some scraps out for the squirrels
on a cold windy day,
And ‘Sky’ our Himalayan cat by the patio
door came to stay,
She glanced out at the cold snow and watching
the squirrels at play,
There was no way she was going out when
it was blowing that way.
A squirrel grabbed some food and on the
top step he boldly sat,
Almost nose to nose with our fat, spoilt
nesh pussy cat!
She did not spit or growl but let out
a quiet little meow.
The squirrel chatted back as if they knew
each other somehow.
He nibbled his crust close to the window
then looked around for more,
Found a big piece, then ran back and seemed to
snuggle right up to the door.
Could our Sky and the squirrel have been
friends in warmer days?
Does he feel the cat should come out in the
cold, have fun and play?
I opened the door but the cold wind blew hard
from the outside,
And our thick coated Himalayan went right
under the bed to hide!
