FIGHTING A COLD
Last Tuesday I showered, put on a Sunday dress,
Although I felt far from well I really must confess,
I coughed and spluttered until I was blue in the face,
Also sneezing with a drippy nose, I looked a disgrace.
We both should go to the temple, we are needed there,
Brian is worse than me, we are sending bugs everywhere,
We dont feeling like eating, not even cookies and cake,
So you can tell we are far from well for goodness sake.
So we stayed home, molly-coddled ourselves that day,
Lit a fire and muffled up warm, indoors to try and stay,
With cough syrup and lozenges, hot honey and lemon too,
We tried to get better, hardly moving the whole day through.
Wednesday right through Saturday we felt equally as bad,
One of the worst type of cold I think we have ever had.
It is subsiding, but the coughs and splutters are still there,
But I dont think those ugly bugs are flying through the air.
So now we are off to the temple our work willingly do,
Hope we can manage to serve our whole shift through
Without lots of coughing and sneezing all over the place,
Try and keep a happy welcoming smile upon our face.
