FLUFFY JUNCOS
Fluffy charcoal and light grey juncos on the snow
In a feeding frenzy put on quite a handsome show,
They prefer to dine, not from the spinning feeder,
But on the cold ground and they are so very eager.
Their food comes dancing down as others do feed
Hungrily on the feeder so showers of good seed
Comes their way, especially when crackles come along,
The messiest of all eaters in our starving bird throng.
The seed cascades like a waterfall onto the snow below
And you should see how fast that falling seed does go,
Now here come the blue jays that make a mess as well,
The pretty cardinal joins the fun, how the numbers swell.
Back and front the feeder stand to feed each feathered friend
A message of hope and comfort to all creatures we do send,
And when we have time we stop and watch the birds feed,
See them gobble much too quickly our large bags of seed.
