HEAVENS CHRISTMAS CARD
It snowed gently all through the peaceful night,
So that morning brought a scene of pure delight,
Mommy, heaven has sent us a Christmas card
Ready for Christmas day, come see our backyard.
The childs eyes sparkled like diamonds in the snow
As she gazed through the window true joy did show,
Dont let us build a snowman, let us keep it all clean
For it is the prettiest picture I have ever seen.
She sat by the window not wanting to move at all,
Then many hungry different birds came to call,
Juncos, sparrows, bright cardinals and blue jays
And the garden glittered under the suns cold rays.
Around about noon more snow began to fall,
Large flakes coming gently making no sound at all.
The wind was asleep somewhere, not even a breeze
To waft through the bushes and the tall silent trees.
The sun fell for a while and then the sun shone again,
Bringing another Christmas card to the window frame.
A photograph was taken to use for years to come
To remember sitting still at the window was great fun.
