DID I SING
Did I sing when the angels sang for joy
At the birth of our Saviour, that little boy
Born in Bethlehem in a stable all forlorn?
Oh, I’m sure I sang on the special morn.

Did we, not yet born, watch the holy birth
As the great redeemer came to earth?
Could we fully understand Father’s plan,
Comprehend His love for every man?

We know heaven’s angels sang loud and clear,
The shepherds saw them, trembled with fear,
Heard those angelic voices lift their voices high,
They went as bidden, and heard the baby cry.

I wish I could remember how I felt that night
When Jesus was born to bring all to His light,
The arches in heaven must have echoed afar
And how many of us watched the bright star.

Now I know the story of His sweet holy birth,
That it was in a stable that He came to earth,
And as we celebrate this very special season
Ler us quietly, reverently, remember the reason.
