INNER SANCTUM
We all have inner sanctums, deep inside
Each heart and soul where we can hide
Our truest nature, who we really are,
Where we show every wound and scar.
The person we may not want to show,
For then they may not want to know
The real individual inside, fear is there
That love and friendship no longer share.
Or that sanctum may hold goals quite high,
And if you let others in they may pass you by,
May think you too confident or self-righteous,
Much too arrogant, proud and too ambitious.
Yet I feel all barriers should be pulled down,
We should not dwell in that sanctum all alone,
Let the true you be set free to mend and heal,
Not fester away in darkness but truly live and feel.
Trust the dear family and friends all around you,
Let them in, let them know you through and through,
Then the love will increase and sweet joy will come,
Theyll bind each wound and help each goal to be won.
