FELINE PHONICS
I told you the other day that dog I could speak,
So other animal tongues I thought I would seek,
Felines I would favor with this unique gift of mine,
To learn to talk cat I fancied would be quite fine.

But I forgot the fact that cats human minds do read,
I think they even knew that I was planting the seed
Long before the thought came all clear in my brain,
So an advantage over me they did already gain.

‘Who does she think she is? A human speaking cat!’
My own cats said to each other as they did chat,
‘She wants to know how to get the flies from the wall,
Learn our extra special hypnotic iiikkk fly catching call.

Oh yes, I can understand cat but they will not cooperate ,
In fact when I purr-meawoed at them they got into a state,
They are much to highferlootin to teach me cat to speak,
So I’ll just listen and mind read and other language seek.
