ANNUAL TRIP TO THE MOON
Up to Bellfountain almost every year we go
On Thanksgiving Monday and we all enjoy it so,
Last year is was quite damp, cold and windy,
Yet there were many people there looking at the beauty.

This year the weather is fine, we are leaving in a little while,
But part of the family is missing, that will dim each smile,
For this is a family thing, a unifying special bond,
A place that every family member is very fond.

Today there we were altogether and children having fun
Grandchildren the age of our’s when this first begun,
These badlands causing wonder how this could be,
All gazing at the fall colours, so many to see.

But we will run and play an extra time for them,
Pretend that we are together, no missing family gems,
We’ll imagine each face and wish them to be there
And they will feel of our love and our tender care.

We are meeting at eleven at the moon this sunny day,
Where for many years the family has met to play,
At first we were always almost alone, no one else around,
Now many fortunate people our family treasure has found.

Maybe next year we will be all together once again,
As we share in thanks all the blessing we did gain,
We will not need heavy coats, just a sweater will do,
Come join our family on the moon and share this lovely view.
