IN THE HEART OF A ROSE
Inspired by the work of Elva Hook
I saw a painting of a rose
so wonderful to see,
Each petal folded in fragrant,
simple beauty,
It invited me into its heart
and let me gently feel
The velvet vibrance of life and
so helped me heal.
I became the rose and the
rose became me,
We were as one living and breathing
in sweet harmony.
I knew what it was like a sweet
red folded petal to be,
Became a living part of a roses
palpating fantasy.
No other rose ever painted has
stirred my soul that way,
From now on when I see a rose
I know what it will say.
