        A TERRA COTTA FRIEND
If any of you use brown sugar, you need a little friend,
I have a useful little brown mouse on whom I can depend,
I put him in my brown sugar jar and I never have a lump
Magically this little mouse must swallow every bump.

Every two months he has a tepid bath to keep him moist,
Then back into the large brown sugar jar him I do hoist,
With him being made of terra cotta clay this mouse of mine
Has the talent to keep all types of brown sugar perfectly fine.

One friend has a frog, another just a disc, no character at all,
I needed a brown sugar keeper and in many stores did call,
Asking for a magic terra cotta mouse for a brown sugar jar,
Everyone knew what they were, but there were none near or far.

Then off we went to St Jacobs on a very wet gloomy day,
And in the very first store brown sugar keepers came our way,
Yet not one shaped like a little brown mouse as cute as can be,
Please let me know if anyone else has a mouse or is it just me?
