MY FRIEND MARGERY
It is good to have a friend who
can say a simple word,
And give me an idea that to me
had not occurred,
How about this or that she will
say with a smile,
Then off go my poem ideas and
some away I file,
Or she may ask me to write a poem
about her cute cat,
I never have a problem with
a subject like that.
What about cracks in the sidewalk
she said last night,
Now my slowed down sagging brain
became all bright.
It is good to have friend who has
ideas for me
For every now and then my own
need a kick you see.
