HELP ME DEAR FATHER
Hold me in Thy loving arms,
let me feel of Thy everlasting love,
Feed me with wisdom and knowledge
that will help me to heaven above,
Teach me the things needed to
return to Thee dear Lord,
Show me what to do and say,
be guided by Thy holy word.
I am Thy child and want
to know Thee as a sweet friend,
Know Thee as a Father full of love,
all of whom on Thee can depend.
Keep my wandering feet on the
straight and narrow way,
As I strive to follow the Master
through each learning day.
Let me rejoice in Thy greatness
and proclaim with glad heart
Of Thy power and strength as
I struggle to do my part.
Even in sorrow, pain and hurt
let me be ever glad
So despair cannot win over me,
nothing keeping me sad,
For these things refine me, they
cleanse and lovingly purify,
Pain and sorrow, deep heartache
should never make me cry,
For it is my road on to heaven
my pathway unto thee,
So, please help me dear Father to
always grow from adversity.
