More poems about me (Ann)

        UNDER THE WEATHER
You awake in the morning and don’t feel quite right,
You can’t put your finger on it, but your head feels light
And you can’t think straight, your food has a funny taste,
When you go the bathroom, you have to make haste.

It would be good to stay in bed but there’s things to do,
It’s no use feeling sorry for yourself all day through.
Everything’s an effort, each task make you give a sigh
And time seems to drag as weary hours go slowly by.

I don’t have a cold, the warm body, just the heat
I’ve slept well yet I just constantly drag my feet,
No energy abounds which normally fills my life,
I feel that I have on my shoulders a ton of strife.

My tummy is in knots and it’s rumbling all the time,
It’s hard to stay cheerful, I want to moan and whine,
But I look around and see many worse off than me,
So I will be cheerful and try to be good company.
