I’LL WRITE A POEM
Soon it will be my birthday and
you wanted to write a poem just for me,
But the way you look at me, the
way your sweet love flows ever free,
I know that the feeling are real,
a heart of gold that you willingly share,
Knowing that whatever happens,
you, my dearest, will always be right there.
So here is the poem that dwells
unable to escape with words soft and sweet
Onto loving lips that each morning
in affection me do gently and lovingly meet.
So here is your love poem
written by your actions every day,
Telling me that we long
to be together now and for all eternity.
The hands that grasp mine
are filled with ever protecting love,
Knowing we will hold hands
as we ever strive toward heaven above.
I see the love-light shine brighter
now then when we first saw it shine true,
Our love, you say with those eyes,
will see our every problem safely through.
Though rosy cheeks may fade
and black hair turns to white and grey,
That love of yours still sees all
my youthfulness from many a yesterday.
“I love you” whispered when nearly
asleep is a poem of great loveliness to me,
A simple phrase given as your
last thought of the day, as beside me
You rest, arms entwined as one
What greater poem could
be written my darling than the things you do,
Thank you my dearest for your
poems of action that will last eternity through.
