More poems about Flowers

        FOR THE BEAUTY ALL AROUND
For the beauty all around, dear Lord I thank Thee,
For the many flowers that in loveliness do grow,
Each one a masterpiece with many sizes and shades,
Found in gardens, parks and in quiet wooded glades.

Each season they come to grace this world of ours,
In spring they are fragile, yet withstand many hours
Of cold wind blowing as they grow in silent beauty,
Like snowdrops, crocus, daffodil and lily-of-the-valley.

Then follows a profusion of flowers growing every day,
Too many to count, a gift given to take your breath away,
Come and smell the roses is a saying old and still true,
How many times do we bother our lovely flowers to view?

I could mentioned the hundreds of trees swaying in the breeze,
The different barks and leaves, and all the greens one sees,
The patten of the branches in winter when the trees are bare
But that is another poem buried deep in me somewhere.

So just for the moment let us show thanks for the flowers,
Watch them raise their heads after warm gentle showers,
See each one different as God His artistic talent does show,
And please do not ignore them as through this life you go.
