VISITORS ARE COMING
Another few weeks and our visitors will be here,
It will be good having our old friends very near,
Even for a couple of weeks and laughter and fun,
And new things to see and catching up to be done.
Stock up the larder and fridge with nice things to eat,
Make a big batch of mince pies as an extra special treat,
And be sure the propane is quite full on the old barbeque,
Legs of lamb are on special this week, I think Ill get two.
September they come when the trees are at their best,
And the sun seems to sink in greater beauty in the west,
The last of the peaches are so very ripe and so juicy,
And the taste is worth waiting for, just wait and see.
Just imagine homemade burgers, eating then in the sun,
After a day of different new activities and lots of fun,
Salad from the garden, maybe a fat sausage as well,
Getting ready is also part of the holiday, cant you tell?
The heart gives a little flutter as time goes past,
Soon the day to go to the airport has comes at last,
Have they lost or put on weight, we dont really care,
As long as we see our friends somewhere out there.
