GET UP AND GO
Sometimes we say, our get up and go, got up and went,
Telling those around that our supply of energy is all spent,
And after a little rest, once again we can get up and go,
Although the pace the second time may be a little slow.

Well the other day something strange happened to me,
All my get up and go, was not anywhere could I see,
Although I had made the bed, it did not think to arise,
Trying to work without it puts you quite a demise.

It must be very small to still be in a tidy made bed,
I see no dint on the pillows for it’s busy little head,
Or any lumps for a body and feet to show it’s there,
It’s nowhere in the house I have looked everywhere.

I can manage to make breakfast then it may wake up,
Shame we don’t drink coffee or I’d give it a cup,
If it could be found to get me through my busy day,
Please get up and go, don’t stay too long away.

Ah, here it comes, I can feel it so energy to me give,
I’d better work hard while with get up and go I live,
For when it fades away leaving me limp and washed out,
It’s hard to getting going again and for help I may shout.

Get up and go, please everyday awake and rise with me
So the things that need to be done, I’ll fulfill each duty,
But without you I’m just like a wet dishcloth in the sink,
But when you are by my side the work is done in a wink.
