More poems about our Garden
FIXING UP THE GARDEN
I must admit that it was a total disaster,
an utter mess,
Although the tomato plants were loaded,
much fruit with us bless,
The weeds had taken over everywhere
also the lemon balm,
In fact if you ventured to the back you
may have come to harm.
David and Sharon came and the girls
helped to,
Helping set things aright, it took nearly
the whole week through.
But yesterday was the day all of us
worked together,
Removing weeds, raking up the stones,
tidying up herbs and heather.
We were going to lay grass allover the
whole back yard,
Off mom and dad went to buy a whole pile
of nice fresh sod,
It would be there at lunch time so we threw stone
and through weeding we did plod..
Everyone pitched in all did their very best
did all they could,
A wonderful family activity together just stopping
for drink and food.
Then the turf came it was very healthy and all
fresh and green,
Some of the very best rolled grass that I
have ever seen.
It went down very quickly, now the garden
looks just like new,
The chaotic mess and weed infested place
it seemed never grew,.
Although the garden is lovely now to see
but the very best thing
Was the love and wonderful togetherness
to us it did bring.
