THUNDER CLOUDS
The thunder clouds hung low and heavy blocking the blue sky,
As we went northward they seemed to stop us from driving by,
Lower and lower they sank, laden with more unwanted rain.
Will we drive through them or will all be wet once again?
We are passing them by this time, it is we who have won,
The clouds are fleeing, the sky is almost as blue as when we begun,
Our journey up north for a few days of needed peace and rest,
Where city noise of traffic is silent that is the real test.
So thunder clouds stay away, dont follow us about this way,
From our destination thunder clouds come another day,
Warm sunshine with a hint of a pleasant cooling breeze
Enough to ruffle the leaves so I can answer the trees.
