GETTING READY
Everything is topped up, the oil is changed,
Visiting and feeding the cat has been arranged,
Just the last minute packing has to be done,
Then off on our holiday to have lots of fun.
We have made the home tidy and clean,
The fridge done, not ashamed to be seen,
All the washing folded, ironed and put away,
Oh yes, we are almost ready for our holiday.
We are off to buy some nibbles and drinks,
Getting ready is a lot harder than you think,
We have the map so we can find our way about,
We will use the ferry and so cut many miles out.
Off to see new places and have a little rest,
Trying new food putting fresh lobster to the test,
Wondering if the sound of the sea makes you sleepy,
Walking on the ocean floor might be quite creepy.
In the morning very early we will all be in the car,
On that first happy day we hope to travel quite far,
Every stretch of the high way, new, not seen before,
One big adventure until we are back at our own door.
