AN AIR OF SADNESS
There is an air of sadness in the temple today,
Its almost time for closing, two weeks to be away,
This noble structure built with great loving care,
For a short time will have no one entering there.
No work done for those gone beyond the grave,
No sacred ordinances performed, souls to save,
Just a lovely building waiting, glowing in the sun,
Being cleaned and fixed so more work can be done.
The last three days should all be really very busy,
Knowing closure is near, but we will wait and see
If more saints will come, enter through the door,
So others willingly help and their God truly adore.
I hope there are no cancellations at all on this day,
But many come to the temple, and there want to stay
For a little while, feel the spirit while they still can,
Fulfilling an important part of our Fathers plan.
There is an air of great sadness, for only a few came
To worship in the temple, maybe the weather was to blame,
Or the children out of school or many good reason why
The temple is so quiet and sad, you can almost hear it cry.
