AN OLD FRIEND
An old friend was found again
        after many long years
As we spoke together twas hard

  1. to hold back the tears,
Memories came flooding back
        to years long gone,
Remembering all the things
        that were said and done.

Now we are waiting to the
        airport off to go,
Joining the throngs that wait
for a loved one to show,
Then the happy reunion awaited
        and many sights to see,
Already the excitement is racing
        right through me.

End of September when the
        trees turn red and gold,
And the fresh peaches still
        being picked, warm to hold,
Ripened on the tree, the juice
        making you a sticky mess
But it’s the best way to eat a
        peach all do confess.

Off to see Niagara Falls at night
        when the floodlights show,
Then up north to St Jacobs, then
        we must surely go
Down town Toronto it’s architecture
        so very fine,
Walk along Lake Ontario’s shore
        after going to dine.

A hundred other things to see, many
        a shopping mall to view,
A congregation at church over two
hundred that to you is new.
These things we’ll do together for
we want to show we care
And say thank you to a friend
who’s love we want to share.
