More poems about Spring

        THE RETURN
Thank you late spring for showing your face,
No longer lost, but have returned in full grace,
With vivid blue sky and the sun shining bright,
And a gentle breeze blowing warm and light,

Flowers look upward wearing a happy smile,
As the birds sing sweeter and for a little while
The earth is freed from the cold and the rain.
Everything seems to be rejoicing once again.

You were dearly missed, our sweet late spring,
Nature and people no longer wanted to sing,
For late spring when you were lost it was cold,
All that rain and low those clouds dull to behold.

But the last few days you are yourself once again,
You have chased away at last the wintery pain,
Walking through nature or along the city streets
Many a cheerful smiling faces you do now meet.

Welcome, thrice welcome, warm friend of mine,
Stay with us long so on your loveliness we may dine,
Coats now hung in many closets tucked safely away,
Please help them stay there for many a long day.
