Visionary polemic
There are most interesting letters and visions that we received as the feedback to this project. They are published unedited, except for personal comments.

From bolo' bolo.

The early Work Machine produced strong illusions of a "better future". After all, if the present was so miserable, the future must be better. Even the working class organizations became convinced that industrialization would lay the basis for a society of more freedom, more free time, more pleasures. Utopians, socialists and communists believed in industry. Marx thought that with its help man would be able to hunt, make poetry, enjoy life again. (Why the big detour?) Lenin and Stalin, Castro and Mao, and all the others demanded More Sacrifice to build the new society. But even socialism only turned out to be another trick of the Work Machine, extending its power to areas where private capital couldn’t or wouldn’t go. The Work Machine doesn’t care if it is managed by transnational corporations or state bureaucracies, it’s goal is the same everywhere: steal our time to be able to steal the next generation's time.

Ecumenopolis

This final hypothesised state of the urban environment shrouds most of the world in concrete and steel. Few natural spaces are left on the surface, with those few spaces being host to agriculture and perhaps recreation. For this city to survive new levels of such advanced technology would have to be achieved. A renewable energy source would be key as would a recycling program that returned nearly one hundred percent of all materials into production again. Water would also have to be recycled and reused to supplie the vast population that such a city would contain. Meat would no longer be consumed simply because animal flesh does not convert food energy efficently.

Furthermore, great political change would have to come about. The ecumenopolis hypothesis does not take into account the urbanization of the sea floor (although it is possible) and this would therefore divide the world into continental cities. Would these cities be recognized as seperate political areas or would they just be districts of a larger city? Would the government structure resemble a federal structure or a municipal one? The questions are unending . . .

... the Future Vision / Model is very important for EVERYONE especially at this turbulent and changing phase of this earth. On my part, I am working towards this Future thing, within my present sphere of influence (with increasing scope) mainly focusing on Organisations (Family Entity, Institutions, Business, Corporation, Government etc.) with the belief that "Quality Organisations make QUALITY (Future Vision) society"

Presently I am working with a few such entities (big and small) and a lot of the learnig, observations are posted as articles in my Internet Homepage.

While we are Visioning into the Future, we HAVE to understand the PRESENT and we need the PAST to appreciate its pattern.

The targeted groups of people I have in mind (and also working with) are the Decision Makers, Business Owners, Policy Makers, etc. with the belief that they play a very crucial role in shaping and directing the Future Direction.

I like your suggestion "What about a separate page/section there devoted to the Vision of the Future employment/business human activity?". It will be good we work out the details, hopefully in line with my approach as mentioned above, i.e. with a specific targeted group to channel our energy and creativity, and not another survey and research to be filed in the Cyberspace Library, or with the sincere thinking or fantasy that somebodies somewhere, sometime will pick out the research work to be benefited with.

..... Once a core group is formed or invited, with the above objectives, each member can share their organisation insights, and slowly the group (or TEAM) will evovle into a Shared Vision of the Future, then we work out strategies, creactivity to make the Ideals come true.......
