Photsynsthesis-Respiration-Plant Anatomy
You will need to know the following
Have the formula for Photosynthesis and Respiration memorized:
- Be sure to know the raw materials and end products of each and how they relate to each other.
- You should be able to relate the three parts of cell respiration; glycolysis, Kreb's cycle and the electron transport chain with each other.
- Be sure to know where within the cell each of these processes occur.
- Be able to relate the two parts of photosynthsis with each other. Know what are the raw materials and end products of the light and dark reactions.
- Know the experiments of Blackman, Van Niel, and Engleman and how they contributed to our understanding of photosynthsis.
- Study the diagrams in your yellow handout booklet, as they are quite helpful.
Plant Anatomy:
- Know the three main parts of a plant (roots, stems and leaves)and their function.
- Be sure to know examples and the functions of the various types of tissues found in plants. Dermal, Vascular, Ground and Meristamatic.
- You should be able to recognize each of these tissues if shown.
- Know the parts of the leaf and how each parts functions.
- Be able to compare the cross sections of a stem, both monocot and dicot, and be able to identify their parts.
