Know similarities and differences between the blood vessels of the body.
Know the circulation of blood through the human heart.
Be able to identify all the parts of the human heart and know how they function.
Know the major components of blood and how they function. For example:
red blood cells
white blood cells
platelets
plasma
Know the basis of operation of the respiratory and digestive systems and how they compare.
Know the functional units for each of the three systems, and why each function the way they do.
Know what the concept of surface area has to do with the efficiency of each system.
The test will stress the above processes as they occur in man.
Study the diagrams in your yellow handout book. They illustrate very well what you need to
know.
