White Dress Makes Me See Red

I had a vision once, many months ago. It is not a vision that I like to talk about, because it wasn't a very pretty one.

My vision was of the bride of Christ in her white wedding gown, drinking a cup of tea while waiting for her Groom. What the bride was failing to notice, was that she was severely wounded. In fact, she was almost completely dismembered with her limbs and blood all over the antechamber.

Each finger was only barely still attached to her hands. Merely a slender wisp of ligament holding the torn flesh and bone to her wrists and arms. The torso and internal organs, likewise, were splayed all across the room, intestines trailing in slow loops.

This bride had torn herself apart, the cancers and wounds of internal dissensions having sundered the once pure bride of Christ. The most frightening part of this macabre scene, was that by and large, the bride did not notice her condition. With her assorted parts, all strung out across the room, the bride was still attempting to drink her cup of tea.

Each finger trying to lift up a cup, yet cut off from being able to cooperate with the other fingers, the hands were only succeding in doing a good deal of twitching about. And the bride had yet to notice that anything was wrong.

If you believe in Christ, then you and I my friend, are both part of this monstrosity. For the bride of Christ is the one true church of which Christ is the Head. Divisions and factions and denominations continue to pull the bride further apart. In the name of God we are killing our selves. The only redeeming factor in this whole mess, is that on the last day we shall all be washed clean in the Blood of the Lamb and be made whole as the perfect Man.
