Works of the Most-Blessed and Glorious Empire of al-Andalus (may Allah shower down a thousandfold blessings upon her and cause her to flourish for a thousand more years... and keep the infidels far from her!)

I am always searching for more sources from al-Andalus, especially epic adventures. Please, please e-mail me if you know of any English translations of historians or poets that I have not included.

The Pennants

I'm cheating. The link takes you to my description in the Codex . Poems of Arab Andalusia by Cola Franzen also has poems from al-Andalus. Amazon can search for Franzen's book, but it appears to be out of print.

The History of Mohammedan Dynasties in Spain; extracted from the Nfahu-t-tib min ghosni-l-andalusi-r-rattib wa tarikh Lisanu-d-din Ibn-l-Khattib by Ahmad ibn Muhammed al-Maqqari, a native of Telamsin

The link takes you to an excerpt from this wonderful history book. This is another book you are only likely to find at a university library, but it is an indespensible read to the person interested in al-Andalus, and it is full of many wonderful anecdotes. There are some tales in here which can probably be told as they are, but most of them do require fleshing out.
