Four of the snails then climbed down the hole. They all got close to each other and the frog wrapped his front legs around two of the snails' shells and put his back feet on the shells of two other snails.

This idea seemed to work, but just as they began up the wall, the snails screamed, "Get off! Get off! You're too heavy! You're ripping our shells off our backs!" The frog quickly jumped off.
