March 8, 1999 [Written on March 6, 1999]

I woke up today before dawn for the first time in a long while (read: not long enough!). The deal was this: the interview turned "fruitful" (yay me) and as a result, I had to show up for a ceremony at 8.45a . Had it been fifteen minutes later, I could have a) hitched a ride my usual carpool buddy at 8.30a, or b) caught a bus at 'round 8.00a . As it were, I had to hitch a ride at 7am and get dumped at campus at 7.15; otherwise, I would have been late. Figure that one out, 'cause I still can't.

It's odd to arrive at campus at what seems to be nighttime, put your head down for a little while, lift it up and see the sun has risen. "WHOA! I spent the night here." I kid you not: the sensation, however superficial it sounds, was very weird. I am grateful to the cafeteria people who arrived at the same time I did. As it were, while on the way to campus, unpleasant scenarios were playing in my head. Worse comes to worse, I would have to wait outside of the campus before it opens (like an idiot), or wait in the dark inside the campus (creepy), or just hide in the restroom until I detect life outside (do we hear the whispers of "loser"?).

Fast-forward thirteen hours. I crash. My last thoughts was "Am I getting sick or am I just really tired... I think I'm too tired to really sleep." Hello dreamland! I woke up at 11.45pm to actually get to bed, lay there for an hour and a half before deciding that I really can't sleep.

So what's my theme here, I keep asking myself. I've lost the discipline of a theme! ... Damn. It's going to be hard to think up of Scribble names, now.
